A sturdy, beautiful patio that's ready for all seasons and will last longer than your neighbors think.
Have you noticed how your old deck creaks everywhere? Or how the boards start to rot after just a few summers? That's because most decks in Quebec are poorly built from the start.
We see it all the time: structures built on concrete blocks laid on the ground, joists that are too far apart, cheap treated wood that warps after two winters. Then you end up with a patio that moves, becomes dangerous, and costs you a fortune to repair.
At Solutions Rénovation Québec, we build patios that we would love to have in our own homes. Sturdy. Durable. Designed for our crazy winters and wet summers.
Most patio problems stem from three issues:
When your patio is just laid on concrete blocks, freezing and thawing causes it to shift every year. This creates sagging, loose boards, and eventually a dangerous structure.
Poor-quality treated wood is guaranteed to rot, especially if it's not well ventilated underneath. We see this all the time: patios that are 5-6 years old but look like they're 20.
Screws that are too short, joists that are poorly spaced, no geotextile membrane under the structure... All of this can cut the life of your patio in half.
We don't just nail boards together. Here's how we do it:
We use piles screwed into the ground, below the frost line. This means that your patio will remain stable, even after 10-15 winters. No sagging, no shifting structure.
We space our joists correctly (16 inches center to center, never more). We use galvanized lag screws to secure everything firmly. Then we install a geotextile membrane to prevent weeds from growing underneath.
Whether you want red cedar, high-quality treated wood, or maintenance-free composite, we'll guide you toward what will really work for your situation. No hard sell, just honest advice.
We work with MC Mel systems—welded, rust-free railings that will last as long as your patio. No cheap hardware that will break after two years.
Economical and sustainable if done right. We use high-quality treated wood, not the cheap stuff you find in big box stores.
Zero maintenance. No need to re-dye every two years. Ideal for busy families who just want to enjoy their summer without any hassle.
Regardless of the height, we ensure that your structure is solid and complies with building codes.
We reinforce the structure to support the weight (a full spa weighs a ton). We also take care of the electrical access if you need it.
When you are given a price, there are no surprises. Here is what is included:
It depends on the size, but in general:
A standard 12×12 patio takes about 3-4 days. A larger project (16×20 with stairs and railings) can take a week.
We give you a realistic timeline right from the start. And we stick to it.
In any case, remove dead leaves in the fall and make sure that water drains properly around your structure.

It depends on the size, materials, and complexity. In general, expect to pay between $35 and $65 per square foot for a high-quality treated wood patio, and between $55 and $85 per square foot for composite. We will give you an exact price after the free estimate.
It depends on your municipality and the height of the patio. In general, if your patio is more than 24 inches above the ground, you need a permit. We'll check this for you and can even take care of the paperwork.
Spring and fall are ideal—less extreme heat for working. But we can build your patio from May to October without any problems. Reserve your spot early, as we fill up quickly in the summer.
Composite is more expensive initially, but you save on maintenance. No staining, no sanding. Natural wood (especially cedar) ages beautifully and costs less to purchase. We will advise you based on your budget and priorities.
A well-built deck made of high-quality treated wood will last 15-20 years. Cedar will easily last 20-25 years. Composite will last 25-30 years or more. The key is the quality of the underlying structure—that's where the difference lies.
If it's because of our work, we'll come back and fix it for free. It's covered by our 5-year warranty. If it's because of an unexpected flooring issue, we'll work together to find a solution, without leaving you in the lurch.
