At Solutions Rénovation Québec, we install all types of exterior siding throughout Lévis - vinyl, wood, stone and acrylic.
Is your siding cracked, discolored or rotting? Is water seeping through the back and you're starting to see stains on the inside? Or maybe your cedar shingles are 30 years old and looking really worn?
Whether you're in Charny, Saint-Romuald, Saint-Nicolas or Vieux-Lévis, we'll protect your home from our harsh winters and humid summers with solid siding that will last a minimum of 25-30 years.

Exterior cladding, it's your home's first line of defense against the rain, snow, wind and freeze-thaw cycles that hit Lévis every year.
Old, cracked or rotted siding isn't just ugly - it's dangerous. Water seeps in, rots the plywood and insulation, and creates mold in the walls. And it costs a fortune to repair if you wait too long.
In Lévis, especially in older areas like Lauzon, Saint-Étienne or Vieux-Lévis, you can still see houses with cedar shingles or canexel from the 80s that have been rendered finished. The wood is rotting underneath, the joints are peeling, and water is coming in with every storm.
Not to mention the botched renovations that have to be redone: vinyl installed without an air barrier, wood installed directly over old gypsum without plywood, or siding nailed over three layers of old shingles.
We do it right. We remove the old siding, inspect the plywood, install a compliant air barrier, then install the new siding according to the manufacturer's standards. A job that will last 25-30 years without a hitch.
It's the most popular choice in Lévis - economical, durable and maintenance-free. Vinyl resists freeze-thaw cycles, won't crack, and keeps its color for 20-25 years.
We install quality vinyl (Gentek, Kaycan, Alside) with a 30-50 year manufacturer's warranty.
Styles available: traditional horizontal, vertical, wood shingle imitation, stone imitation.
Typical price: 6 $ to 10 $ per sq. ft. installed.
Natural wood is classic and gives a lot of character, especially in Old Levis or on heritage homes. On the other hand, it requires maintenance: it needs to be stained or painted every 3-5 years.
Western red cedar is recommended - it's naturally resistant to rot and insects.
Typical price: 12 $ to 18 $ per sq. ft. installed.
Fiber cement is super-durable - resistant to fire, insects, rot and impact. It mimics wood, but without the constant maintenance.
You have to paint it for 10-15 years, but that's all.
Typical price: 10 $ to 15 $ per sq. ft. installed.
For a high-end look or to restore the appearance of an old stone house, install natural stone or facing brick. It's durable for life, but more expensive.
Often a combination of stone on the bottom (2-3 feet) and vinyl or fibrocement on the top.
Typical price: 18 $ to 30 $ per sq. ft. installed (stone), 15 $ to 22 $ (brick).
For stucco, concrete or brick houses that you want to refresh without changing everything, apply an acrylic elastomeric coating. It seals cracks, waterproofs and gives the house a new look.
It lasts 15-20 years before you have to redo it.
Typical price: 5 $ to 8 $ per sq. ft. installed.
We always start by inspecting your existing siding. We check for water infiltration, rotten plywood, damaged insulation, or structural problems.
If we find any damage, we tell you in advance and repair it before installing the new siding.
We remove the old siding right down to the plywood. We take the debris out every day to keep your yard clean.
If the plywood is rotten or damaged, replace it with new (7/16" OSB or 3/8" plywood).
This is a crucial step that too many contractors skip. An air barrier (such as Tyvek or Typar) is installed over all the plywood to block air and moisture, while letting steam escape.
All joints are sealed with specialized tape for complete protection.
If your house is poorly insulated, you can add rigid insulation under the sheathing (2-3 inches of polystyrene or polyurethane). It improves comfort and reduces heating costs.
The new siding is installed according to the manufacturer's specifications: proper spacing for expansion, adequate nailing, well-sealed joints.
For vinyl, a 1/4" gap is left for thermal expansion.
For wood, apply a coat of primer before installation and seal all cut ends.
For fiber cement, we use stainless steel nails and seal the joints with elastomeric caulking.
We install or replace soffits, fascias, corners and moldings around doors and windows. Everything is properly sealed to keep water out.
Aluminum or vinyl is often used for soffits - it lasts a lifetime without maintenance.
This often happens with old cedar shingles or canexel from the 80s and 90s. Water seeps through the joints, gets trapped behind, and rots the wood.
We see this a lot in houses in Saint-Romuald, Charny or Saint-Étienne that have never been re-insulated.
If your siding was installed without an air barrier, or with a poorly sealed air barrier, water will eventually get in. It rots the plywood and insulation, and creates mold in the walls.
We often see this around windows, doors, or in corners where caulking is absent.
Cheap or badly installed vinyl can come unstuck in the wind, or crack during the cold January-February months.
We use quality vinyl with a good thickness (0.044" minimum) and nail it down properly to avoid these problems.
Old beige or brown vinyl siding from the '90s is a thing of the past. And the sun eventually fades cheap vinyl after 15-20 years.
Replace with modern colors (gray, black, navy blue, white) and vinyls that are more UV-resistant.
In Lévis, especially in wooded areas like Pintendre or Saint-Nicolas, woodpeckers can wreak havoc on wood or fiber cement siding.
We repair holes, install visual repellents and sometimes recommend vinyl in high-risk areas.
When you remove the old sheathing, you often discover rotten plywood, especially at the bottom of walls, around windows, or in northern corners that never see the sun.
All damaged plywood is replaced before the new sheathing is installed.
